PASSION PROJECT
I am what I eat. Wild things.
Before 2022 spearfishing on the Great Lakes was limited to “rough species.” These are species that are not considered “game fish” and not really table-worthy. That was until a friend of mine, Johnthan Durtka, approached the DNR about changing the regulations to allow us to spear gamefish — specifically lake trout, wallet and trout. The DNR agreed to a five year trial period, they wanted to gauge interest, harvest rates and more.
This opportunity meant a lot to me so I built a website to help educate people on what this meant and what we can do to ensure they DNR keeps these privileges around. It’s been an overwhelming success. With my background in content marketing and SEO, the website has helped capture organic traffic and educate people looking for more information o the subject,
